DESCRIPTION:

Perennial bulb. Stems erect up to 30 cm. Leaves 2-3, long blades, tapering at end. Flowers evenly spaced along stem, tightly clustered at the top and dark purple when still in bud, drooping along the middle. Ripening capsules on horizontal stalks along lower third. Six petals, fused in proximal half to form tube, petals curving outwards in distal half. Each flower on stalk that is three times as long as the flower. Flowering from February to April.
