DESCRIPTION:


Annual, stems slender, few-branched, up to 30 cm, hairy. Leaves deeply dissected, lower leaves lobed, upper leaves feathery. Flower buds oval and hairy, up to 2 cm long. Flowers about 3 cm across, 4 petals, scarlet with faint black spot at base, falling off easily. Fruit a narrowly oblong capsule with flat top (stigmatic disk), 5–9-grooved. Seeds black. Flowering from February to April.
