DESCRIPTION:

Annual, sometimes biennial or perennial. Very similar to Sonchus oleraces. but leaves lobed all tthe way to midrib, with lobes almost linear (including terminal lobe) and finely toothed. Upper leaves clasping with long-pointed wings. Flowerheads 1-2 cm, in small terminal clusters, yellow. Involucral bracts ecome black with age. Fruits pointed, up to 1.2 cm. Flowering from February to April.
