DESCRIPTION:

Annual, stems slender, erect, up to 25 cm, usually unbranched, hairy. Leaves deeply dissected into linear lobes, 3–5 cm long, toothed edges. Lower leaves with long stalk, upper leaves without stalk. Flower dark violet-purple with dark center, c. 4 cm across, 4 petals, falling off easily. Fruit a 3-valved cylindrical capsule, 0.2–0.3 * 2.5–7.5 cm long, with stiff white hairs. Flowering from February to April.
